Loose Primary School PTA Newsletter Our Loose's Little Elves Rainbow Hamper Raffle is officially live and we couldn't be more excited to share this year's amazing prizes with you! Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and our wonderful school community, we have a stunning collection of colour-themed hampers packed with treats, gifts, and family-friendly goodies. Every ticket purchased helps support PTA projects that directly benefit our children. Tickets are available now! You can buy them by scanning the QR code on the posters around school or by visiting: loosepta.co.uk/hamper-raffle This year's hampers include: Purple Hamper – kindly sponsored by ElectriServe Ltd, filled with luxury treats and gifts. Pink Hamper – donated by Sandy's Fish & Chips, Folkestone, featuring seaside-themed goodies and more. Blue Hamper – sponsored by Marino's Fish Restaurant, Sittingbourne, packed with cosy gifts and delicious snacks. SHOUT OUT Well done to Isaac J in Amethyst who performed a duet with our piano teacher Mrs Wilson at the Maidstone Music Festival. It was a great opportunity for him to practice performing in front of an audience, a skill important in so many disciplines, and when taken out of his comfort zone his determination always impresses us - he introduced the piece, performed brilliantly and calmly and took a well deserved bow at the end. We were all very proud that he achieved 2nd place! Amazing Isaac!

Forest School Year 5 are fully embracing forest school sessions now. Last week we had lots of whittling going on, making mushrooms and wands. This week was quite wet, the children were fantastic building shelters and digging in the mud! I am so pleased to see so much activity, creativity and imagination taking place.

Christmas Trees A huge thank you to Kingswood Christmas Trees who have kindly donated two Christmas trees to the school again this year, which we are excited to see decorated to help get us in a festive mood! They have a Father Christmas grotto, real reindeer to visit, lots of fresh Christmas trees and an amazing Christmas shop and cafe. NUT FREE SCHOOL A reminder we are a nut free school as we have children with life threatening nut allergies. Please ensure your child does not bring anything containing nuts in for snacks or in lunch boxes. This includes satay chicken skewers, peanut butter, Nutella spread and some cereal bars. CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY - Thursday 11th December We are having a Christmas Jumper day on Thursday 11th December where children are invited to wear a Christmas jumper instead of the school jumper over their school uniform for a donation to Save the Children. Headteacher News Welcome all, The calendars are open, the decorations are down from the loft and elf hats and reindeer hair bands are beginning to appear around the school. They all lead to one conclusion... Christmas is coming! Advent has started. Our assemblies this week were filled with a real sense of Christmas as we began by exploring the true meaning of Advent. It was truly lovely to hear the many different ways our children prepare themselves for this season of waiting and expectation although it must be said, the arrival of the many house elves is clearly a firm favourite! We spoke together about how waiting can often feel difficult and how the small rituals we have that help us mark time: the tiny traditions, the shared moments, and the things that quietly build excitement. I wonder what the little things are in your family that help you count down to the moments that matter most? Here at school, those moments are already beginning to unfold. The Christmas trees have arrived and will soon be beautifully decorated. The front office glitters with soft festive touches, our choir is rehearsing in preparation to perform for our community, and our Year R children are calmly crafting their nativity, full of quiet purpose and pride. We have also been treated to the magic of our PTA Christmas Gift Shop, beautifully organised and full of excitement, with the children thrilled to be part of something so special. We very much look forward to celebrating this wonderful season of goodwill with you soon in the church too. There is also a growing buzz of excitement around our new School Nursery. The main build is now complete, and we are in the final phase of the project. Over the coming weeks, fencing, furnishing, and the last few finishing touches will be completed, ready for a January finish and a February opening. Following this, our new staffroom refit will take place and then we will be open! Adverts for nursery staff and a nursery manager will be going live very soon. I would like to extend a sincere thank you for the patience shown by our community during our recent internet outage. It is incredible how dependent we have all become on digital systems, yet for two days we adapted, found solutions, and worked together calmly a real testament to our collective resilience. As the darker mornings and evenings settle in, I would like to gently reinforce the importance of road safety. Please ensure that children using bikes or scooters are wearing helmets and visible lights, and that all children are reminded of the dangers of the road, particularly during these duller, busier winter days. These small measures make a very real difference. Our crossing being damaged is a reminder of how quickly things can happen! Finally, a small plea regarding our disabled parking bays. These spaces are primarily for Blue Badge holders, but we also have families who genuinely rely on these bays due to physical mobility needs. As we are very short on accessible spaces, we kindly ask that these bays are only used where there is a genuine need, particularly for collecting children with limited mobility. if you can park and walk in , we would appreciate it. Thank you, as always, for your understanding and compassion. Thank you for your continued support, kindness, and partnership as we move together through this special season.
