Design and Technology
One of our global themes is 'Innovation' and within our DT curriculum we aim to provide children with essential knowledge and skills for them to be able to design, create and build. Here at Loose, our amazing teaching staff create DT projects link to an area of the curriculum they are currently studying and use this thematic link to engage the children with the DT project. Within these projects there will be an emphasis on identifying the need for the product they are designing, considering the audience for their product, in depth design considering functionality and then the process of the building up the skills required to build the end product. All units of work will finish with an in-depth evaluation of the product produce and consideration to changes they would make in the future. This critical evaluation is of vital importance and is a skill that children need to hone and improve as they move through their time here at Loose Primary.
Our DT curriculum is currently under review for the 2021/22 academic year, and we will be looking to roll out a new scheme at the start of the 2022/23 academic year.
