Eco Council

The eco council is voted for by each class in the school.  Each class has an eco representative and a deputy. The eco council meets every 2/3 weeks and is lead by Mrs Way. The children work hard to improve environmental issues within the school and try to ensure that the school is as eco-friendly as possible. Activities would include keeping the site litter free, ensuring efficient recycling methods within classrooms, checking on energy efficiency, onsite gardening projects, promoting outdoor learning about nature, acting as eco parking  wardens to promote safe parking, fundraising and much more . Children also take their work into the local community for example spring cleaning the local park as part of the Keep Britain Tidy campaign. The eco council is integral to the school’s ongoing work towards keeping its prestigious Eco-Schools’ Green Flag award. We are very proud of the fact that we are currently working towards our 6th Green Flag award.
